zipper ruined my shirt underneath

This jacket is great for high-output cold activities, like winter running and Nordic skiing. It is A slim fit and layers well with only one fitted base layer below. However, the zipper does not have a backer behind it, and it rubbed on the shirt I was wearing underneath, ruining it. I looked at all the other jackets I own, and they all have this piece of fabric sewn in behind the zipper on the inside to block wind and likely protect your clothing underneath.
