1. Choose long lasting quality

Buying quality is more expensive at the time of purchase, but divided by years in use the investment is great. 15 to 30 year old Norrøna products often sell for 1/3 to 1/2 of the new price, sometimes even higher.

2. Choose products tested by experts

Our Extreme User-driven product development tests Norrøna products in the harshest conditions with our most demanding users. When their needs are met, we know the products will work for everyone else. We spend up to 3 years developing and testing each product.

3. Take care of your products

When you invest in quality and pay more, give your product love and care. All outdoor products need regular washing and some need reapplied durable water repellent (DWR). Even the products made for extreme conditions will last longer if you handle them with care.

4. Repair when needed

Repair when needed. No matter how good the quality is, at some point something will wear out. Since 1929, we have been offering repairs to secure the longevity of our products. In 2024, we repaired over 24.000 products. We have repair centers in the US, Canada, EU, Switzerland, UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Norway. We have easy to use online registration, and the handling time is 2-6 weeks. Spare parts are available in our web store for DIY repairs.

5. Choose timeless design

Products with timeless design makes them stay relevant longer and outlive trends. They actually might feel cooler the older they get. Our design philosophy is Loaded Minimalism™, meaning; products made as clean as possible with all critical details, inspired by colors, coordinated through time and collections.

6. Pass it on

A new Norrøna product is always great, an old one is even better. Our goal is that no Norrøna products sit unused in a closet. Instead, we say: pass it on! Give it away. Sell it on a digital marketplace, at your local flea market. There is a lot of sustainability in products that are reused again, and again, and again. Norrøna RE is our full-scale initiative for more responsible, circular business.

7. Do your research

We also work on minimal carbon or carbon-negative materials from biowaste or recycled natural fibers. In 2024, we estimated that the carbon footprint for producing and shipping a Norrøna product is on average 11,9 kilograms carbon. That equals 5 liters of gasoline, 100 grams of beef or 500g of cheese.
