What is your first memory of nature?
One of my earliest memories of nature is when my parents put me on skis at the age of two.
How would you describe the nature where you grew up?
I grew up in the Mont Blanc Valley near Chamonix, where we experience all four seasons. It’s a unique place, and I’m deeply attached to it.
What activities did you enjoy during your childhood?
Skiing in the winter and skateboarding in the summer.
What is your main activity, and why do you love it?My main activity is skiing. I’ve loved skiing since I was little, and it amazes me how that passion has only grown. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. When I ski, time doesn’t matter – it’s an incredible experience.
What advice would you give to others who want to excel in this activity like you?
Get good insurance and let go of fear! (laughs)
How would you describe Norrøna in your own words?
Elegant, simple, and well-designed.
How would you describe the nature of Norway?
Like a dream. The light and landscapes are wild and unlike anything else in
Europe.
How can you help take Norrøna another step forward in innovation and product development?
By pushing the limits of the products in extreme conditions and making them even more durable, we can take things to the next level.
What tips and advice do you have for minimizing our footprint on the planet?
I’m vegetarian, and I believe reducing meat consumption is one of the most impactful ways to protect the environment.
What adventures do you dream of undertaking in the future?
Skiing in Alaska one day.
Do you have a profession alongside your main activity? If so, tell us about it!
Beyond skiing, I’m passionate about architecture. I’m also an entrepreneur and co-founder of Payot Property, a real estate agency operating in France and Indonesia (Bali). We specialize in selling architect-designed homes. Creativity and imagination connect both skiing and architecture, and that’s what I love about them.
What do you enjoy talking about with other people?
It depends on who I’m talking to. It could be skiing and adventure, or professional topics. I’m open to all kinds of discussions—I just enjoy connecting with people.
What book has made the biggest impression on you—and why?
Candide. It’s the only book that truly left a mark on me when I was young. I was never a big reader, but this one stood out.
Who inspires you the most today?
There are so many athletes and artists who inspire me, but if I had to name one, it would be Zinedine Zidane.
If you were to create your own life motto, what would it be?
Enjoy the moment and always believe in your dreams.
