Where did you grow up?
I grew up in New England, in a skiing family. We spent our time skiing, hiking, and climbing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Where do you currently call home?
I have lived in Aspen, Colorado for almost 30 years. It is the perfect combination of epic mountains, great snow, world-class cycling and climbing, and lots of great culture and people.
Activity
All types of skiing: backcountry, freeride, piste, and even nordic!
What year did you join the Norrøna family?
I joined the Norrøna family in 2021. SO excited to be a member of this historic brand.
What current items on norrona.com are some of your go-to favorites?
I am really excited to spend time in the mountains and all the types of weather wearing the Lyngen and Lofoten collections, but there are also many other products that I am stoked on, including Tamok and Falketind.
What do you actively do to cut back on your carbon footprint?
My home is run entirely on renewable energy which we buy from our power company. I ride my bike around the valley as much as I can to avoid driving. But the most important thing I do to help the environment is use my voice to speak up on issues, talk with elected officials at the local, state, and national government levels, and I have been a Board member of Protect Our Winters for 12 years.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
This is such a tough question as I am a passionate mountain person who loves just being in rad places… but I’m going to go with Denali National Park, in Alaska. These mountains are massive, like the Himalaya, and the ski mountaineering is truly incredible.
What advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
Follow your passions… literally find something in life that you love, and figure out how to make a career out of it!
What hobbies do you enjoy participating in?
I have been really into cycling for most of my life, and recently have become obsessed with the world of Gravel riding. I love long, dirt road, adventure rides. I also love summer rock climbing and mountaineering.
What is/are your hidden talent(s)?
I can count to 10 in Norwegian and am a co-founder of a wine company called Revelshine Wines.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why?
Of course I would choose flight. I love birds and think that flying would be an incredible skill.
