Eva Eskilsson is a woman of the high mountains, splitting her time between the Swedish wilderness, the granite spires of Chamonix, and the arctic peaks of the Lyngen Alps. A veteran of the Norrøna family for over 14 years, Eva has built a life centered around exploration, professional guiding, and a deep-seated respect for the natural world.
Where did you grow up?
Sundsvall, Sweden.
Where do you currently call home?
Sundsvall (Sweden), Chamonix (France), and the Lyngen Alps (Norway).
What do you actively do to cut back on your carbon footprint?
- Eat local and seasonal food (less meat and dairy).
- Only buy high-quality items that I will really use and that can be repaired.
- Organize my travels so that I stay for a long time in each place I visit instead of going back and forth.
Career highlights/accomplishments
I'm a IFMGA qualified mountain guide and have developed a guiding business (Mountain Spirit Guides) together with my partner and fellow Norrøna ambassador, Wolfgang Huber.
Was there someone or some event that inspired you to get involved in your sport/activity?
My partner Wolfgang inspired me to take skiing and climbing into the high mountains, and also to become a mountain guide.
What advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
Be kind, be joyful, respect all life on earth, and never stop playing!

What is a skill that everyone should master and why?
Place your consciousness in your heart because it'll bring you to a natural state of peace and joy. And from there you can act according to your true values.
