Winter Biking

About

Now you can join Are Tallaksrud (Norrøna ambassador) and Pål Johansen (Ville Sykler) for a guided ride starting from the Norrøna Concept Store Gulskogen and heading up to the trail network in Drammensmarka.

The local trail association in Drammen maintains and grooms the “Linkløypa” trail network throughout the winter, offering nearly 20 km of perfect singletrack from Landfalltjern up to Tverken, around Goliaten, and back to Landfalltjern.

Program

• 10:00: Meet at Norrøna Concept Store Gulskogen
  Light bite and intro by Are Tallaksrud about the day and trail network. Group assignments and guide introduction.
• Afterwards Participants can either:
  • Cycle from the store for the full experience 
  • Drive to Landfalltjern: If you prefer to ride a regular mountain bike or fatbike, we recommend meeting at Gulskogen and then driving to Landfalltjern to start the ride there (a separate guide will lead this group).
• Demo Bike Handover at Landfalltjern
  Specialized, in collaboration with Ville Sykler, will have a limited number of eMTB demo bikes available for those who would like to try the latest models. But with limited availability; cannot guarantee a bike for everyone. Participants must bring their own bikes.
• Ride Duration
  ~25 km and 800 meters elevation gain on Linkløypa’s groomed singletrack, 2–2.5 hours.

Clothing Tips

It is important to dress appropriately for the conditions, especially in winter. Good footwear is essential. Toe warmers in regular cycling shoes (combined with wool socks) work very well. Warm gloves or handlebar mitts help keep your hands comfortable.

Bring a backpack so you can adjust layers during the ride. Shell garments and layering make it easier to regulate temperature. There will also be an open refreshment stop halfway through the ride at Tverken.

The Guides

Are Tallaksrud is a passionate mountain biker and Norrøna ambassador who loves technical trail riding, nature experiences on the bike, and the social community around cycling.

Pål Johansen from Link Sykkel now operates as the Head Mechanic at VILLE moving forward. He is the driving force behind Linkløypa and the trail association responsible for maintaining and developing the winter trails in Drammensmarka.

Packing List

• eMTB / Trail bike / Fatbike (preferably with studded tires, but regular tires are acceptable)
• Helmet
• Knee pads
• Warm clothing, shoes, gloves, toe warmers
• Snacks
• Waterbottle/something to drink during the ride
• Tools and spare parts
• ID (required if borrowing a demo bike)
